SENSES
We use our senses to get information:
  • sight: we use our eyes
  • hearing: we use our ears
  • smell: we use our nose
  • taste: we use our tongue
  • touch: we use our skin
SIGHT
We use our eyes to see. We can see colours, size, shapes, position and distance. The optic nerve takes the image we see to the brain.
Parts of the eye:
 

HEARING
We use our ears to hear. We can hear sounds. The auditory nerve takes the sound we hear to the brain.
Parts of the ear:
  

SMELL
We use our nose to smell We can smell different smells in the air. The olfactory nerve takes the smell we smell to the brain.
Parts of the nose:
  

TASTE
We use our tongue to taste. We can taste different flavours: sweet, salty, sour and bitter. Nerves in the tongue take the flavours we taste to the brain.
Parts of the tongue:
 

TOUCH
We use our skin to touch. We can feel different sensations: temperature, texture, pain... Nerves take the sensations we feel to the brain.
