- axis: imaginary line from the North Pole to the South Pole passing through the centre of the Earth
- Equator: imaginary line around the middle of the Earth. It divides the Earth into the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.
On a world map we represent continents and oceans. Continents are large masses of land separated by oceans.
