BONES AND SKELETON
Our skeleton is a framework of hard rigid pieces called bones. The bones of our skeleton are held together by connections called joints.
- The skeleton consists of 206 bones of various types:
- Long bones, like the femur.
- Flat bones, like the scapula.
- Short bones, like the vertebrae.
- The groups of bones.
- The vertebrae are a group of small bones that form the spine. The spine supports the whole skeleton.
- The group of flatbones that form the skull protect your brain.
- The rib cage protects the organs in the trunk.
- The joints. There are two types.
- Some joints allow the bones to move, like the elbow.
- Others don’t allow the bones to move, like those in the skull.
Let´s play some games to help us!!
